Vitamins for Hair Growth

Hair loss can be caused by vitamin deficiency, or by other causes such as aging, drug use, or infections. Adding vitamins to the diet grows hair by improving circulation, reducing stress, and adjusting hormones, all of which are known causes of hair loss. Yet having vitamin rich foods and supplements can help in hair growth. In fact, vitamins do more in promoting healthy hair than any hair growth shampoo, and that’s a true fact! That’s why you need to consume some vitamins to increase your hair growth.

  1. Omega-3 fatty acids are important for a healthy scalp. Salmon is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. If you are vegetarian, you can get omega-3 fatty acids by adding a tablespoon or two of flax seeds to your diet each day.

The recommended daily intake of vitamin D is at least 1000 IU per day.

Vitamins particularly such as vitamin A is  fat-soluble vitamins, an excess of which can cause negative effects on the body. On the other hand, though the other vitamins such as vitamin C are water-soluble, even those should be consumed in the necessary amount and not in excess.
